10 March 2003 Jean Gray Dear Editor LETTER TO THE EDITOR – for publication I am writing to clarify the Community Practitioners’ and Health Visitors’Association’s position regarding direct entry to the health visiting profession (Register group throws out health visitor direct entry, 5 March 2003). The CPHVA is opened-minded about the possibility of direct entry in the future – it is not against the concept. This position has been stated in two press releases so far this year. Our concern is that any proposals for direct entry should be well-thought out and cogently argued. Once any such proposals are on the table we will give them serious consideration.
