Osteoporosis guideline

A new SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network) guideline has been published on osteoporosis. It recommends that specialist bone scanning devices are made available in all health board areas. It also recommends that patients who have suffered one or more fragility fractures should be prioritised for investigation and treatment.

NHS Scotland has also published a new patient information leaflet outlining practical information about osteoporosis and how it can be prevented.
