Stroke guidelines

Updated National Clinical Guidelines for Stroke which place more emphasis on more active intervention to prevent and treat strokes have been published by the Royal College of Physicians.

The revised and expanded guidelines contain new sections, including the management of Transient Ischaemic Attack. The guidelines, first published in 2000, are used widely in hospitals and the community to aid the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of stroke patients.

The guidelines can be downloaded from www.rcplondon.ac.uk
