NHS PROFESSIONALS AGENCY WELCOMED BY MSF
Health union MSF today (Tuesday, 14 November) welcomed the formation of the NHS professionals agency to take over functions currently undertaken by private sector agencies at a cost to the NHS of millions of pounds a year.
MSF Head of Health Roger Kline today said:
"We especially welcome the inclusion of scientific staffs within the umbrella of this agency. Only six months agency we warned of the outrageous cost to the NHS of these agencies. It is entirely appropriate that bank and temporary staff are provided by an NHS agency."
"However, the numbers of staff working for the NHS as agency staff will only be reduced when salaries are increased so it is more attractive to work permanently for the NHS".
