Certification Officer Backs CPHVA Over Not Calling A Special General Meeting
The Community Practitioners’ and Health Visitors’ Association has been "totally vindicated" over its decision not to call a Special General Meeting (SGM) over the name of the new Nursing and Midwifery Council.
The Certification Officer, whose role is to see that trade unions conduct their affairs properly, dismissed two applications from CPHVA member, Moira Graham that it had breached its own standing orders
The CPHVA’s director, Jackie Carnell said: ‘The Association is absolutely delighted that the Certification Officer has totally vindicated the Executive Committee and the Standing Orders Committee in the manner in which they dealt with the request for a Special General Meeting.’
The CPHVA is and has always been a democratic, accountable and transparent organisation where the views of the membership are valued and respected. It is good that we can put this behind us and concentrate on the real professional issues, which effect our members.’
