Doctors support the Fire Fighters.

Doctors from various branches of the profession from the trade union, MPU voted to support the fire fighters in their claim for a decent wage. Dr Ron Singer, a GP in North London and newly elected President said:

"All of us rely on the fire fighters and their support teams when we are in trouble every bit as much as we rely on the NHS when we are ill. We are asking doctors in MPU to support the fire fighters in any way they can - arguing their case, organising money to support their families and so on."

Doctors at the meeting felt that by publising their support for the fire fighters claim they demonstrated emergency services working together in disputes as they do routinely in their daily work.

Dr Singer added: "As trade union doctors we are glad to be associated with support for the fire service and with the TUC call for widespread and public support of the fire fighter’s dispute"
