Key issues facing and nursery nurses and practice nurses in Scotland are to be tackled at separate conferences to be staged by the Community Practitioners’ and Health Visitors’ Association early in 2004.
The venue for both events will be at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow - for nursery nurses, 29 January, 2004 and for practice nurses, Thursday, 26 February.
The UK's nursery nurses are set to receive an approximate Ł2,000 increase to their salaries under the new Agenda for Change pay structure. This follows a grading campaign by the Amicus - the CPHVA’s parent trade union - which has 900 nursery nurse members.
One of the highlights of the practice nurse day will be exploring the impact of the GMS contract and what this will mean for practice nurses.
The CPHVA’s Professional Officer for Scotland, Anna Daley said: ‘Career development and current initiatives flowing from the
Scottish Executive are top of the agenda for both nursery nurses and practice nurses – and these will be key topics on these two days.’
