Members of the Community Practitioners’ and Health Visitors’ Association (CPHVA) are eligible for three awards in 2004 – with prize money totalling £6,000.


Members of the country’s third largest nursing union have until 25 June to put forward nominations for outstanding individuals who must belong to the CPHVA.


The three awards:

  • Lady Limerick Bursary is named after the CPHVA’s former long-standing president and the £4,000 award is a ‘one off’ bursary aimed at PHD/doctoral researchers wishing to fund a research project.
  • McQueen Award for Excellence in Practice 2004 (£1,500) is for a single practitioner who demonstrates the highest standards in the areas of community and public health practice.
  • Caroline Puckett Award (£500) is for workplace activity related to personal safety and nominations will be via CPHVA Local Accredited Representatives (LARs). The nominees will need to provide evidence that the £500 will be used to further enhance staff safety.
