Aims

  • To provide a forum for CPHVA members to meet and discuss the service which health visitors do and could provide for older people

  • To provide health visitors with contacts in other areas, in order that they may visit, exchange ideas and promote the interests of older people

  • To increase awareness within the profession of the expertise which health visitors have in the promotion of health for older people

  • To act as a pressure group to promote the interests of older people and their cares
 
Objectives
  • Members of the group will be able to contribute to the Association, by making recommendations appropriate to the continuing development of a health visiting service to older people
  • To act as a focal point in the collection of data, regarding such matters as job descriptions, developments within services in various work areas
  • To draw attention to problems experienced by health visitors in developing their role with older people
  • To draw attention to problems experienced by older people, in order to make proposals and recommendations for changes locally and nationally
  • To represent the CPHVA on outside bodies, in order to promote awareness of the role of the health visitor with older people and of the needs of older people in terms of health promotion
