Community Drop in Advice Centre in a deprived area

This project benefitted young families living in an deprived area in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. In two years, this has expanded to include a Family and Advice Centre and Furniture Recyling Project. The service provides:

Steps to Successful Parenting
|
|
Health visitors from Severn NHS Trusts and Family Support Services from Gloucestershire have produced a parenting package entitled 'Steps to Successful Parenting'. It includes guidelines on behavioural management with rationale of giving consistent clear advice. Health Visitiors use this information in group settings or with individual clients. Group work forges closes interagency co-operation.

Classes in Parenting Skills
|
|
The courses conducted were for parents of 0-6 year olds. 5-15 year and a parent assertiveness course. These courses have been taken to small island communities, as well as for those in the main town.
